Trip to Arizona for Thanksgiving

Well this is backwards, but here goes. Here we are leaving Bryce Canyon National Park.

Caleb posed for a couple of photos on a very chilly windy day.

This is the only shot we got of Neeve, because it just wasn't fun for her to be outside of the car. Everyone was sick on our way home from Phoenix, so we did as little exposure as possible - in and out drive by sight seeing.

Happy Birthday to Caleb! He is two!

Jack took us to the Desert Museum in Tucson and we had a great time looking at the animals - particularly the otter and the beavers.

Grandma and Grandpa Ryskamp each had a great photo op with little Neeve.

Grandpa and Caleb were having a great time playing cars and trucks.

Here is Neeve in her new Bumbo chair - it helps her to feel a part of things.

This is Neeve as we were trying to feed her some cereal - she was more interested in eating the tray.

We went on a hike with Jon's sales team from work. Neeve was ok with riding, but Caleb walked most of the way there, luckily, he was tired enough to ride the way home. We took an hour and a half to get to Stuart Falls, and 45 minutes to get back.

I thought this was fun.

We decided to spend one of the last beautiful days outside. Caleb is a great baseball player, I will have to video him hitting too - granted we play with a ball that might be considered kickball sized.

Neeve was enjoying the sunshine.

Caleb got a hold of the camera and this was his best photo.

Caleb likes to get real close - much to the chagrin of his sister.

October

This is Neeve trying out her new toy, of course Caleb likes it more than she does.

Caleb and dad mowing the lawn together - it is quite cold out - there were small snowflakes coming down at the time.

Neeve, just hanging out, practicing sitting up.

New York City part 2

Here we are on the Brooklyn Bridge, after we left here, we went to china town to get some dinner and wound up in the middle of a street fair in Little Italy - after trekking through the crowd for a while we found a great Italian restaurant that we decided was the best food of the whole trip.

This is the Manhattan Temple for anyone who hasn't seen it before, I had been here before and thought they might upgrade the buildings looks, but nope, it still looks kind of old.

This is Caleb making friends in Central Park.

We went to the aquarium the last day while Jon was at the conference, we had a pretty good time - it wasn't anywhere near as big as the Zoo, but still had some fun exhibits.

This is the Alien Stingers exhibit.

While we were walking the boardwalk in Conney Island, all Caleb wanted to do was play with the sand that came up from the beach.

This is the 3 of us on our way home on the Subway - both kids did surprisingly well as travelers, from stroller, to subway, to cab,

to airplane.

Caleb wanted to portray Lady Liberty a couple of days after we got home.

New York City part 1

Here we are at the top of the Empire State Building - both babies were out for the entire excursion.

This is Caleb swinging in the Bronx. We found a park on our round about way to the Zoo.

There were some cool looking turtles in the tank that you can't really see.

Caleb loved the petting Zoo.

And the Peacocks.

This is us at Grand Central Station.

We were wondering who put up the BYU flag?

On the boat to the Statue of Liberty.

Looking back at the New York Skyline.

Us and Lady Liberty.

And Yes if you were wondering I did get my hair cut - the day before we left. I decided to donate it for locks of love - so it ended up shorter than I had anticipated.

Campout

Well here is our first campout of the summer - I know it has been a busy summer, and it was a long winter before that, so needless to say, we finally made it out.

Caleb is happy to be out of his bed (note the cardboard box behind him).

Neeve slept like a trooper - just the same schedule as any other night. Look at that sweet face - she really is a doll.

Everyone is pretty tired after the restless night.

Caleb and Dad - the mountain men.

Caleb will make a bat out of anything in order to round up a game of baseball, note the stick in the photo above.
